The ritual

The pedicure, step by step

About seventy minutes in all. Each step has its own time, so you can keep it, shorten it or skip it.

Feet resting in a glass basin of warm water with orchid and plumeria flowers beside them
10 min

Soak

Warm water, a pinch of salt and a clean basin. We look at your feet first, and tell us now if anything is sore, cut or swollen.

A technician's hands hold a client's toes to check the nails before shaping, beside a cream armchair
10 min

Shape

Nails are clipped and shaped to the length you pick: short and square, rounded, or a soft oval. Cuticles are softened and pushed back.

A technician's hands smoothing a client's heel with a pumice stone over a folded towel
10 min

File

A foot file and a pumice stone smooth heels and rough spots. Tell us if a spot is tender and we will go lightly.

A technician's hands massaging a client's calf over a footbath
15 min

Massage

Warm towels, lotion and a slow massage of your feet and lower legs. You choose the pressure.

A technician's hands around a client's foot wrapped in a warm towel
10 min

Warm paraffin

A dip in warm paraffin, then a warm towel wrap held around the foot while you sit. It is a quiet ten minutes, and it is optional.

A technician painting a client's toenails with toe separators in place, in a bright room
15 min

Polish

A color, a clear coat or gel polish. Regular polish needs a little time to set; gel is dry when it comes out of the lamp.

Your first visit

What to expect from the minute you book.

  1. 01

    Step 1: Book your visit

Choose a pedicure on the booking page, or call. There is no deposit; booking holds your time and we text you the day before.

  2. 02

    Step 2: What to bring

Nothing. Wear loose pants that roll to the knee, or bring shorts. Tell us if you have a cut, a wound, swelling or an infection on your foot.

  3. 03

    Step 3: What to expect

Come five minutes early to choose a color; parking is in front of the building. Your technician looks at your feet, then the ritual begins, about seventy minutes in all.
